Birthday Boy!

This lucky little boy had not one, but three birthday bashes! Kaden's 2nd Birthday celebration started early, and surprisingly, with a dinner at Benihana. Kevin had never been to a Japanese Steakhouse, so we decided to try it out with another family. This causal dinner quickly turned into a birthday celebration for Kaden, and he couldn't have been more pleased with the attention. While the meal was not quite up to his standards, a large group of singers, lots of clapping, several onlookers, and a gigantic bowl of ice cream made for one very happy little boy.

On Kaden's actual birthday - Sunday, August 28, 2011 - we had a small and simple affair. Kevin, Kaden, and I celebrated the day with a few too many presents, way too many kisses, and a little bit of cake. Kaden was excited that Uncle Garry and his girlfriend, Lauren, were here to join in the fun!. Another exciting moment occurred when Kaden's car seat was finally turned around to face forward - car rides have suddenly turned into exciting excursions. While Kaden loved all of his gifts, the gigantic garbage truck (or "yuck-yuck as Kaden says) from Uncle Paul was, by far, the biggest hit!

Finally, we had a little play date with some friends at the Zoo Railroad to celebrate Kaden turning two. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a blast running around the park popping all of the bubbles flooding out of the bubble machine. The biggest hit was, of course, the train ride! We are so thankful to have such wonderful friends with whom we can celebrate these milestones - the majority of the little ones in the photo below have been friends since they were six months old!
