Dirty Boy

With Dad's help, Kaden managed to spend a little time in our hamper. He kept closing the top and then popping out. Just like a Jack-in-the-Box only a Kaden-in-a-Hamper version.

Kaden and the Caterpillar

The local bookstore recently held a reading of The Very Hungry Caterpillar complete with the Caterpillar himself! This is one of Kaden's very favorite books and he was thrilled to see his favorite character live and in color!

Daddy's Boy

Kaden has turned into a Daddy's boy. During the week, as Kevin is leaving for work, Kaden will stand at the window and wave "Buh-bye" until he his out of sight. While Kevin is at work, Kaden is constantly asking for him. And, if Kevin arrives home before Kaden's bedtime, he acts as though the circus has come to town. On the weekends, Kevin has a tiny little shadow that follows him around just about everywhere. I can see why he is so infatuated with his Daddy - he's a blast to be around. So, maybe he doesn't always put his dishes in the dishwasher, or take the garbage cans to the curb before he leaves for work, or manage to get his dirty clothes actually in the hamper, but what does that matter? He's got the best character voices, makes up the funniest games, makes the silliest faces, is almost always happy, hardly ever says no, has a contagious laugh, and gives the biggest and best hugs! And he loves his little boy as much as I do...to the moon and back.

I asked Kaden to look up at the camera for this one - hmm..close.

My boys.

Little Fireman

One of Kaden's very best friends, Andie, recently turned two and had a big birthday bash to celebrate. Her parents planned this soiree at a place called KidVentures. It is essentially a giant warehouse divided into different themed rooms (for example: a grocery, a disco, a nursery, a diner...) with a massive indoor playground in the middle. Kaden, who is OBSESSED with all things fire engine related (we make a mad dash outdoors whenever we hear the sirens) could not be budged from the...you guessed it...fire station room. While entirely too dangerous of an occupation for me to encourage, I think our little man looks pretty perfect in the uniform.

Sea World - Take Two

On our most recent visit to Sea World, Kaden got the biggest kick out of watching the other children run through the water fountains in the kids play area, the Sesame Street Bay of Play. That face is glee exemplified! Our extremely empathetic little man gets really excited when other kids show excitement! Unfortunately, the opposite is true too - more than once he has burst into tears after seeing one of his friends in a saddened state. I must remember to take a change of clothing for Kaden so that, next time, he can join in the fun!

St. Patty's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day from our little leprechaun. Don't worry, we're not starting him young, that's a mug of green milk on his head.

He's not loving these silly photos anymore:

But he's just too cute not to take them:

NYC - Uncle Paul Turns 30!

Uncle Paul turned 30!! I can hardly believe it myself...I still remember when he was Kaden's size with those big brown eyes and bowl cut hair style! Not that we had any doubts, but he's grown up into quite the young man and I couldn't be more proud of him. In so many ways, Kaden reminds me of Paul when he was a boy - I can only hope he turns out as well.

To celebrate this milestone of a birthday, the family flew to NYC for a weekend of fun. Kaden's sweet friend, Lila, let us stay with her.

The Babies had a lot of time with the Daddies, and loved every second of it!

We also spent some time exploring Brooklyn...well, Brooklyn's playgrounds anyway.

I would post a photo of the "adults" celebrating, but none are fit to print. Needless to say, we had a great time! Hope the Birthday Boy enjoyed himself as much as we did.
